Pile Testing Coordination and Review
We help define a suitable pile testing programme, coordinate with competent testing providers and review the test records and reports against the design, within the agreed scope.
What the testing coordination service covers
- Defining a testing programme based on the design, specifications and applicable requirements.
- Coordination with competent testing providers appointed for the project.
- Review of test records and reports against the design assumptions.
- Advice on design implications where results differ from what was expected.
- Support for test documentation and construction records at close-out.
Common pile tests
The testing programme is set for each project. These are the tests most often considered:
| Test | What it is used for |
|---|---|
| Static load test | Applies load to a pile in stages and measures its response, to verify capacity and settlement behaviour. |
| High-strain dynamic test | Measures a pile's response to a hammer impact to estimate capacity and check integrity. |
| Low-strain integrity test | A quick check for significant defects along the pile shaft. |
| Cross-hole sonic logging | Checks concrete quality between access tubes cast into bored piles. |
Why coordination matters
Tests are only useful if they answer the right design questions. Coordinating the testing programme with the designer helps make sure the right piles are tested, at the right time, with acceptance criteria that match the design, and that the results feed back into the site records before close-out.

Testing ties back to the pile design and runs alongside installation supervision. For the full sequence, see our project process.
